Thomas Corfield was a mining engineer. He moved to Llanidloes where he was probably involved in the lead mining industry of the late 19th century there. He then moved to the West Indies and lived in St Kitts and later at Cul de Sac, outside Phillipsburg on the island of St Maarten where he died.
• Will. • Probate, 18 Sep 1886. • Occupation: Superintendent of Sombrero Island. Thomas married Mary Emma PEARCE, daughter of William PEARCE and Elizabeth Ann WOTTON, in 1869. (Mary Emma PEARCE was born on 3 Jan 1847 in Liskeard, Cornwall., christened on 7 Feb 1847 in Wesleyan Chapel, Goat Street, Swansea, died on 18 May 1903 in Wigan 4 5 and was buried in Wigan, Lancs.) |
