  General Notes:

The Corfields were living at number 13 Cathedral Road, Cardiff and Ethel was living at 'Shalton' 12 Cathedral Road 1901.
In 1914 William and Ethel were living at The Nook, Sully, a village 6 miles outside Cardiff. This address is now 41 Cog Road, Sully, Penarth, CF64 5TD
In 1917 William joined the armed forces training with 2nd Battalion London Scottish.
On February 5th 1918 William was posted to France with the 1st Battalion London Scottish.
On April 8th 1918 he was sent to hospital with 'PVO Wimereux' then to East Leeds War Hospital on 15th April.
Wimereux was the headquarters of the Queen Mary's Army Auxilliary Corps during the First World War and in 1919 it became the general headquarters of the British Army. From October 1914 onwards Boulogne and Wimereux formed an important hospital centre.
In 1921 he was assigned to clerical class at the India Audit Office

William married Ethel TUCKER in 1909 in St. John the Baptist parish church, Cardiff. (Ethel TUCKER was born in 1881 in Cardiff and died in 1978 in Worthing.)

William next married Mary Margaret MALONEY, daughter of John MALONEY and Elizabeth MALONEY. (Mary Margaret MALONEY was born in 1892 in Newport, Monmouthshire ⁴.)
