Commandant Royal Taunton volunteers when he was 80 years old.
There is an unexplained death notice in the Gentleman's Magazine 'At Taunton, aged 88, the wife of W. Corfield Esq. and sister of late General Roberts, many years MP of that town, 9th January 1813'. This seems to indicate that William may have married again before his death.
William and Christian may have had another son,Edward.
