General Notes:
Edmund Shaw Browne, always called Shaw, was born in Cropwell Bishop in Nottinghamshire. After the 1st World War he farmed at Belle Eau Park farm in Kirklington. Around 1930 he accepted the tenancy of Cavendish Lodge Farm, a 1,500 acre farm near Old Clipstone in Nottinghamshire. At this time the farm formed part of the Duke of Portland's estate. In 1945 the Duke of Portland died and to pay off death duties part of the estate was sold off. This included Cavendish Lodge. Shaw purchased Cavendish Lodge farm from the estate and farmed there for the rest of his life.
Edmund married Dorothy Ottoline TAYLOR, daughter of John TAYLOR and Jane SMITH, on 12 Jul 1912. (Dorothy Ottoline TAYLOR was born on 10 Jun 1888.)
Edmund next married Connie WILDE.
