  General Notes:

In 1672 Richard paid 2 shillings tax for a hearth at Home Farm.
Of Chatwall Hall, Salop.
J.P. for Shropshire.
Churchwarden in 1687,1691 and 1706.
He bought Hall Farm, Smethcote by 1685 which remained with the family until 1774.
Upon his tomb are the arms of Russell and Walthall. The tomb has not survived.
He left his property to his son Thomas. (Burkes Landed Gentry)

Richard married Katherine WALTHALL, daughter of John WALTHALL and Unknown. (Katherine WALTHALL died on 16 Jan 1692 and was buried on 19 Jan 1692 in Cardington.)

Their marriage settlement is dated Friday 3rd July 1679.

Richard next married Mary WALTHALL, daughter of Arthur WALTHALL and Unknown. (Mary WALTHALL was buried on 22 Apr 1734 in Cardington.)
