With her three sisters she ran a school which is described in 1828 as "Misses Corfields' Ladies' Academy" and later as "Ragleth House, a boarding school for girls" which was still running in 1851.
In 1861 and 1871 she and her sistes are described as "retired governesses" living at Ragleth House.
The 1881 census mentions Martha who was blind.
