C W Roger Corfield went to Bradfield School in Berkshire and Magdalene College, Cambridge graduating in 1934.
During the Second World War he served as Captain in the Royal Engineers in the Middle East, writing a report for the Foreign Office on supply routes to China and the Soviet Union..
He gained a licentiate membership of the Royal Institute of British Architects in 1948, and on the retirement of his father took over from him the duties of Architect to the Truro Diocese. Between them they gave 60 years of service to the church.
