Major George Channer of Sutton Cottage, near Hounslow, Middlesex who fought against the French in the West Indies, as a volunteer, in 1809.
George and Mary lived at Black River, Jamaica, in the British WestIndies for a while.
They later returned to Buckinghamshire. He was buried at Amershamfollowing his death
on 28 Nov 1830.
Mary's brother Henry also went to Jamaica, and died there.
One of Mary and George's sons was a Colonel in the East India Company,while one of their daughters married a General Robert Shortrede andanother married a distinguished Anglican clergyman, Canon FrederickCorfield.
