It is believed that this is the George Corfield that attended London University from 1872 to 1875 and matriculated at St John's Cambridge, 17th May 1878. He then became a clerk in Holy Orders ' migrating' to Oxford and matriculating there in 1879. He earned his BA from Balliol College in 1883 (MA in 1886).
From 1875 - 79 he had been Vice-Principal of Winchester Training College, being ordained Deacon at Winchester, 15th July 1877, and priest at Oxford in 1883. He served as Chaplain of St John's Winchester 1877 - 78 and at Steventon, Berks 1879.; vice Principal of Culham College, Aabingdon 1883 - 86 and Principal of Brighton Training College for Schoolmistresses 1886-1915.
George married Sarah L LITTING. (Sarah L LITTING died before 1895.)
George next married Ethel Winifred HEGINBOTTOM in 1895.
