General Notes:
Lord of the Manor of Longville and Chatwall Hall. In 1589 a land deed was drawn up between him, Edward Lutwyche of Lutwyche, John Lutwyche of Lincoln's Inn, William Kyndersley of London, and William Marwoode of Nuneaton, Warwickshire. Another deed dated 31st August 1590, in which Thomas Corfilde of Longville and Ales (Alice), his wife, gave grants of certain lands in Longville to Edward Lutwyche. A third deed, dated 1st June1592, notes that "The Queen has agreed to grant to Thomas Corfylde a general livery of all the manors and property, late descending to Thomas from John Corfelde as son and heir of the said John Corfelde" and is signed by Lord Burghley, the power behind the Queen.
Thomas married Alice SMALMAN, daughter of Stephen SMALMAN and Unknown. (Alice SMALMAN was buried on 17 Aug 1650 in Cardington Church.)
