John Andrew Corfield attended Waimamaku village school. In 1895 he had begun a smallholding near that of his father's at the foot of the ranges beyond Waimamaku.
In 1910-11 John was Chairman of the Dairy Company taking over from his father, who had died.
John married Elizabeth Caroline BRACEY, daughter of Frederick Joshua BRACEY and Lilla LLOYD, on 5 Feb 1901 in Waimamatu, North Island, New Zealand. (Elizabeth Caroline BRACEY was born in 1878.)
