Mabel Padley worked in a munitions factory during the First World War where she met her future husband, Archie, who was recovering from wounds. She later joined the land army. Archie returned to New Zealand in 1919 and Mabel followed him two years later in 1921.
Mabel married Archibald Joseph CORFIELD, son of Andrew CORFIELD and Sarah Louise JEWSBURY, about 1921 in Hokianga, New Zealand. (Archibald Joseph CORFIELD was born on 5 Feb 1891 in Waimamatu, North Island, New Zealand and died on 28 Jan 1969 in Dargaville, New Zealand.)
