Henry Cox Corfield emigrated to Australia in the late 1840s. After the death of his first wife Henry sold his property to his head stockman, John Eaton, for a nominal sum, and established a new station called Gigoomgan which he soon sold to Anderson and Leslie. Afterwards he bought Stanton Harcourt Station, 55 miles northwest of Maryborough from W.H. Walsh of Degilbo Station where he lived from 1854 to at least 1868. In 1862 he travelled back to England where he stayed with his brother James and persuaded his nephew William Henry to come out to Australia to work with him. In 1868 Henry stayed at Burketown as a guest of Mr. Surveyor Sharkey on Swears Island, Queensland where he met his future second wife.
Henry married Jessie MURRAY, daughter of James MURRAY and Unknown, on 7 Jun 1852 in Mount Whea, Queensland, Australia. (Jessie MURRAY was born Est 1826 and died on 23 Jun 1853 in Tubar, Wide Bay, Queensland, Australia..) The cause of her death was Childbirth. Giving birth to a stillborn daughter.
Henry next married Aleathea HUEY, daughter of Walter HUEY and Aleathea, in 1869. (Aleathea HUEY died on 16 Jan 1900 in New South Wales, Australia..)
