Richard CORFIELD 1 2
- Born: 26 Jan 1771, Callington, Cornwall
- Died: 1836 aged 65
General Notes:
Richard Corfield served in the Peninsular War in the 1st Bn, 4th Foot, and was presumably present at the battles of Corunna, Badajoz and Vittoria, 21st June 1813, where his battalion was in the second brigade leading the attack on the French bridgehead. He also fought at the battle of Waterloo, 18th June 1815. By 1828 he had followed his father into the Customs Service and became Surveyor General of Excise at Bristol. He built 'Corfield House' at Weston-super-Mare. No issue.
