Captain in the 53rd Shropshire Regiment.
James Winsmore Corfield served in the Punjab 1848-49 and in the Campaign against the Hill Tribes 1851-52. He had been awarded several medals, and was severely wounded in action at Rhajinar. There is aninscription at Jhelum, India. "James Winsmore Corfield, Capt 53rd Regiment (KSLI) Died 1st May 1879"
