Address on her marriage certificate was 114 Worsley Mesnes, Wigan.
Before she married Emily was a school mistress.
After her husband died Emily moved to Winoma, Orchehill Avenue, Gerrards Cross to be close to her son, where she lived with her daughter. In 1946 she moved back to Southport and lived at 16 Rawlinson Road, again she lived there with her daughter Betty.
In the early 1960s she suffered a massive stroke which left her unable to speak and apparently with no memory although according to her daughter Betty she was always aware of what was going on.
She spent the remaining years of her life in a nursing home. She was a formidable lady.
According to Justin Corfield, Emily was the 5th Daughter of Thomas Smith.

Emily married Richard Cecil CORFIELD, son of Thomas CORFIELD and Mary Emma PEARCE, on 2 Sep 1909 in St James' Church, Wigan. (Richard Cecil CORFIELD was born on 19 Sep 1879 in Rose Cottage, Basseterre, St Kitts, West Indies, christened in St. Georges Church, St. Kitts, West Indies, died on 21 Mar 1939 in 35 Lulworth Road, Southport, Lancashire and was buried in Liverpool Road Cemetery, Southport. Grave 167, Section L..) The cause of his death was Stroke.
